Have you ever heard the phrase, “Sonríe, mijo/mija. Échale ganas. No te rajes”?

Those words have stayed with me my whole life. They are part of who I am and part of how I move through life every day. My favorite was always “Sonríe, mijo,” from my aunt, who passed away during COVID. Even now, those words still remind me to keep going, to keep smiling, and to never give up.

Like many DACA recipients this year, I have been waiting months for my renewal approval. It has been stressful, uncertain, and heavy at times. Pero yo no me rajo. I keep going. I keep smiling. Because la vida es para ser feliz.

That is the heart behind Vida Feliz.

Vida Feliz was born from the belief that our culture carries color, strength, joy, and resilience. Every item we choose is meant to represent a little piece of that feeling: the warmth of family, the beauty of our roots, and the reminder that even during difficult seasons, we can still carry alegría with us.

Our community is just beginning. With the love and support of my wife, our family, and the people who believe in this vision, Vida Feliz will continue to grow.

Our mission is to be a voice for our community, to share our culture with pride, and to remind everyone, even if only for a moment, que la vida es para ser feliz.
